"I search for a strong sense of light in the painting process because it creates focus and when well lit, the painting becomes a very special work of art."

Fine Art for Mankind

David is a working artist and long time resident of Taos, New Mexico. He is proficient as an oil painter, using the chiaroscuro style. He is also a watercolorist, printmaker and enjoys drawing the human form. Believing that life-drawing enhances the painting process, he also uses his drawings of the human figure in various printmaking processes, such as chin-colle and monotype printmaking.

His studies include formal college level courses at the University of New Mexico, the Belles Artes in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and special workshops at the Fechin Institute in Taos, New Mexico with modern-day masters in the Taos area.

David has a second home in British Columbia (Vancouver Island) Canada and draws on the natural beauty of the area for his landscape inspiration.

He is called THE NORTH AMERICAN ARTIST
